Launch

How it works

Launching, fee routing, vaults, custody and claiming.

Overview

AthleteX launches tokens on the Pons V2 launchpad on Robinhood Chain. Each token names a sportsperson's official X account. The token's creator fees go to that athlete's vault, and only the person who signs in with that X account can claim them.

Launching a token

  1. Pick the athlete. Enter their X handle. The vault belongs to that handle.
  2. Add details. Name, ticker, image and description, plus an optional creator tax of 0% to 10%.
  3. Launch. Your wallet calls the Pons V2 factory directly. The athlete's vault is set as creatorFeeRecipient, and the X handle is written into the launch salt, so anyone can verify the link on-chain.
  4. Optional opening buy. Buy in the same transaction, so nobody can trade ahead of you.

Fee routing

Every trade on a Pons V2 curve pays the curve fee, plus the creator tax if one was set. When fees are swept:

  • the protocol share of the curve fee goes to Pons;
  • the creator share of the curve fee and the whole creator tax are credited to the athlete's vault in the Pons fee escrow.

The person who launches the token receives nothing from fees. Buyback is always off for AthleteX launches.

Vaults and custody

Each athlete's vault is an ordinary Robinhood Chain wallet derived from their X handle. AthleteX's server holds the key and uses it only in the claim flow, after the athlete proves they control the handle.

This is custodial until the athlete claims. AthleteX, not a smart contract, enforces who can claim. Every vault address is public, so its balance and every transaction can be checked on Blockscout at any time.

Claiming

  1. Prove you control the X account: post a short message with a one-time code, then paste the post's link. AthleteX checks it through X's public embed service. You can delete the post afterwards.
  2. Connect the wallet you want paid, and sign a message to prove you own it.
  3. AthleteX then, from the vault: sweeps fees still on your token curves, claims the vault's balance from the Pons escrow, moves every token's fee recipient to your wallet, and sends you the balance minus the claim's gas.

After you claim

Your tokens now pay fees directly to your wallet. Claim them yourself from the Pons fee escrow; AthleteX is no longer in the path. New tokens launched for you later start in your vault again, and you can claim them the same way.

Things to know

  • Vaults belong to the X handle. If an athlete renames their account before claiming, the vault stays with the old handle, and whoever holds that handle can verify and claim it. Athletes should claim before changing their handle.
  • Pons' protocol owner can change any token's fee recipient after a public three-day notice. Vault pages show any pending notice.
  • Launching a token for an athlete does not mean they endorse it.
  • AthleteX pays no gas. Launchers pay for their own launch. Claim transactions are paid from the athlete's vault; if it holds no ETH yet, the athlete adds a small gas deposit from their wallet, and the unused part comes back in the payout.
